Tchai partnered with JBL to design, engineer and deliver a dedicated brand space for the JBL Quantum gaming range in Saturn Cologne; a high-traffic electronics megastore in Germany. The space was developed to showcase the new gaming line-up and invite customers to experience the products first-hand before purchase.
JBL’s Quantum series focuses on immersive, high-performance audio for gamers, where sound intensity and responsiveness are key to the experience. Translating this new category into a retail environment demanded more than standard fixtures.
The approach focused on enhancing atmosphere through lighting, materials and spatial storytelling that reflect the energy of gaming culture. This included working within a limited footprint while enhancing visibility and engagement with custom display solutions that allow products to be tested and enjoyed in real time.
Tchai crafted a distinct JBL Quantum brand space that transforms into a visually striking destination. Using LED lighting reminiscent of gaming aesthetics and large-format graphics like a dramatic dragon motif on the floor, the installation creates a compelling atmosphere that draws shoppers in. Custom-made JBL Quantum product displays are stocked with the latest headsets, enabling hands-on testing and real engagement with the products’ immersive sound capabilities — turning passive browsing into active experience.
The brand space significantly elevates JBL’s presence within Saturn Cologne, turning a previously overlooked zone into a focal point of gaming interaction. Visitors are invited to connect with the Quantum product portfolio through experience-led design that aligns with the gaming lifestyle. The space strengthens JBL’s retail storytelling and supports deeper customer engagement with the Quantum range.
This project showcases how we translate lifestyle-driven product innovation into compelling physical experiences. By integrating atmospheric design, technical execution and strategic placement, the JBL Quantum brand space turns sound technology into a tangible retail interaction, inviting customers to feel the energy of the products before they buy.
